In this episode, you’re going to get a treat, a hands-on experience with active imagination. I also created a video version, which you can find on my YouTube channel.
Wait . . . don't go. Do you feel trapped in a dysfunctional relationship or toxic work culture? Are you having a difficult time overcoming a pattern of thinking, one that resurfaces feelings of unworthiness? Or, have you already shed all that crap but you're not sure what you want and where to go.
If you can say yes to any of these questions, this episode is for you. Are you brave enough to try something new? By definition that means you gotta embrace awkwardness and vulnerability.
Active imagination is a technique which was developed by C.G. Jung, one of the founders of depth psychology. I’ve been doing a lot of inner child work with clients lately, so I thought I’d focus on that for this active imagination exercise.
Whether you’re stuck or not, doing inner child work always brings new insights. For me it’s not about re-experiencing painful memories, rather it’s more about reaching back and grabbing or integrating something that can help you get unstuck or move forward on a path that isn’t clear yet. I hope you enjoy this episode and share it with others. Also, if you’d like me to do more hands-on activities here or on my YouTube channel, send me a message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
