Dose of Depth
This is Dose of Depth podcast. I’m your host, Deborah Lukovich, and I invite you to be curious about your unique experience of being human. In this podcast, we’ll explore the deeper meaning of ordinary life experiences through conversation, stories, and education. You might have a serious ah-ha moment, or you might be amused by the movie your life seems to be imitating, or you might just be entertained by one of my awkward stories. I’m hoping you’ll become more aware of those moments when a deeper part of you is prompting you to see things differently and maybe even go a new direction. So, let’s get started. Deborah

The Nature of Evil: A Chat with/Dr. Peter Demuth, Jungian Analyst & Author of Monsters In Life and Literature
In this episode, I chatted with another Jungian enthusiast who has a beautiful balance between his masculine intellect and feminine, creative nature.
Dr. Peter Demuth is a forensic clinical psychologist and Jungian psychoanalyst in private practice. He is also an international lecturer and instructor at the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago. He has published numerous papers on subjects such as ego strength, psychopathy, the Criminal Code, and the use of early memories in a therapeutic prison setting. Follow Peter on LinkedIn:
Peter is also a singer-songwriter with eight full-length albums, featuring over 160 original compositions. He has written original folk-pop music since 1972 and has performed worldwide, including in New York, Liverpool, London, Zurich, Paris, Baltimore, and Key West. He regularly plays in the greater Chicago area. You can find Peter's music here: Jango Radio, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, CDBaby
Many of us are trying to make sense of what is happening in the world. A depth psychology perspective can help explore the deeper meaning of what our personal lives have to do with what’s wanting to break out of the collective unconscious. Regression is an inevitable part of the expansion of consciousness. Finding deeper meaning and our role in the transformative forces doesn’t erase the suffering that comes along with it.
You might enjoy my blog post about navigating the aftermath of the election. I include Dr. Demuth’s thoughts about the process of becoming violent, which is relevant because many people are currently being groomed to accept and commit violence.
